KID STORMY
|
One of several early New Orleans barrelhouse piano players who have been largely "lost" to blues history. A musical peer of Rock Sullivan, another lost pianist, Kid Stormy Weather recorded two sides in 1935. Nothing else is known about him other than the little that might be assumed from references to him by artists such as Professor Longhair and Allen Toussaint, on whom he was a major influence. It is possible he spent some time in a Louisiana Penitentiary.
