Dennis "Little Hat" Jones was a very early Texas bluesman about whom very little is known. Nothing is recorded about his early years except that he travelled the Texas and Louisiana blues circuit in the company of Texas Alexander and Funny Papa Smith. The few recordings he made demonstrate his very individual finger picking guitar style coupled with rolling bass notes, reminiscent of Blind Lemon Jefferson. Songs such as 'Little Hat Blues' also show off his loud, belting singing voice. After his final recording session in 1930, nothing further is known of him.
